ERP5: complete ERP/CRM Solution Ready for Production

ERP5 is an Open Source framework and solution which covers all features of a modern ERP system:

• Product Design Management (PDM) allows to build a consistent product database and manage though custom workflows the design process of complex products, including BOM and multimedia documentation.
• Supply Chain Management (SCM) allows to manage orders, packing list, product referencing and warehouse with intelligent sourcing policies.
• Movement Resource Planning (MRP) allows to plan production of complex products and its impact on supply requirement and resource capacities.
• Client Relation Management (CRM) allows to keep track of client/vendor interaction and sale / purchase opportunities.
• Human Resources (HR) allows to manage personnel careers, assignments and payroll.
• General Account Management (GAM) provides a general multi-multi ledger with group accounting support, invoicing, and advanced multi-key analysis.
• eCommerce allows to implement online ordering, sales and RMA synchronized with ERP5 SCM and MRP.
• Content Management System (CMS) thanks to the integration of the CPS Project to the ERP5 architecture allows to manage content rich documents with versioning and multi-lingual content.

• ERP5 is used by Coramy group (250 employees) to create 2,000 new design and produce more than 2,000,000 goods every year in 3 factories, sold under 5 different brands by 4 different subsidiaries.
• ERP5 is used to manage Storever build-to-order online shop.
• ERP5 technology is used by Bas Rhin Prefecture to securely synchronize multiple instances of Nuxeo CPS across insecure asynchronous links.

ERP5 Leading Innovations

ERP5 has introduced leading innovations to ERP design:

• 5 Classes Universal Business Model: all information ends up in one of 5 classes. The exact same concepts are used to represent human resources or production management. This allows to build a consistent system which much lower maintenance or customization costs.
• Document Orientation: ERP5 single unit of information is the document. Documents in ERP5 are the digital equivalent of documents in real life: invoices, price sheet, etc. ERP5 stores what was input on a document, and only what was input. Everything else is computed in real-time, thanks to built-in Objet-OLAP technology. This approach allows to guarantee data consistency yet benefit from very high performance reporting and querying optimized for every client.
• Explicit Worklows: Every document in ERP5 is associated one or more workflows. ERP5 workflows are explicit and can be customized through the web to fit specific organization processes of clients.
• Variations. Variations allow to implement multidimensional information in ERP5. For example, quantities in apparel BOM are represented as matrices of size and color. Variations allow to drastically reduce the number of references yet provide complete customization and configuration of each reference.
• Selective Synchronization. Multiple ERP5 servers can be synchronized across unreliable asynchronous links thanks to ERP5 implementation of SyncML protocol. Synchronization can be defined for a selection of documents and for part of their content. In a group of companies, ERP5 selection allows to provide relevent content to each company of the group and consolidate it transparently at the main headquarters.

ERP5 Supports Linux, Mac and Windows

Thanks to its Web based interface, ERP5 is used everyday on PCs running Linux or Windows as well as on Macintosh computers running MacOS 9 or MacOS X. Because ERP5 was designed from the start to be operated from a Web browser, its interface if optimized for the Web, unlike legacy systems. Special fast input forms provided in ERP5 allow to reach same or better input speed than in a client server solution, yet benefit from the ease of deployment of a Web based solution.

ERP5 is based on the Zope application server and can use any relational database (ex. MySQL). ERP5 software components are compatible with all server platforms: BSD, Linux, MacOS X, Unix, Windows. Precompiled ERP5 packages are currently provided only for Mandrakelinux. Because ERP5 is

Just like any ERP, ERP5 is complex system which requires experience in order to provide complete satisfaction to clients. Configuring ERP5 requires much more effort and experience than simply installing ERP5 software components. Members of the ERP5 project are currently concentrating on sharing their own experience with software companies able to provide professional services in new geographic areas or to new professional communities.
